It just dawned on me that I only have 5 more days to be a teenager. That, my friends is really scary. I feel like I should go out with a bang- any ideas? |
|
Over the break I have had the chance to do some major soul searching, and feel 100 times better because of it. I realized that a lot of things needed to change this semester; at least the things that I have control over. It dawned on me that although I would enjoy teaching and think that I would probably be good at it doesn't mean that I have to do it right away. I have too many other interests that I need to entertain before settling down. I have decided to change my major - most likely to sociology. I think that choosing a major like this will open up many more opportunities for me and help me to feel more fulfilled. Right now I am looking at the following classes:
intro to poetry writing (for my own personal benefit) intro to jazz dance (same thing) intro to Communications intro to Sociology public Speaking plus two required Blue Chip classes
18 or 19 credits...it should be an interesting semester |

I heard once that the average college student changes their mind about his or her major 4 times. I looks like I might be doing this for a second time... Over the past few weeks I have had a lot of time to think- and so far it has left me even more confused. I have only vague ideas of what my talents may be and no clue where to go with it. All I know is the minute I get back to campus I will make an appointment with Carrer Services. Any suggestions?
Argh!
Peace out |

It baffles my mind when I think about how many things have changed in my life over the past year. A teacher in highschool told me that more would happen in the next 10 years of our lives than in any other time period. I am starting to finally believe her. Time has sped up so much that I often sound like my 50 year old parents asking "where did the time go?" It's kind of sad, really. But I look forward to seeing what life has to offer me in the next chapter of my life- because I have no idea what is to come! Make it a great semester, everyone.

I have been thinking a lot lately about how many of us have gone our separate ways this semester. However, I really hope that over Christmas we can all get together again. Good luck with finals everyone!

Well, it sure has been awhile since I have updated...
Life has never been busier for me, and the next month is probably going to be the craziest thus far. Sally, Christine and I are scheduled to leave next week for our 10 day European Expedition- although considering the problems in Paris right now, there is a chance we won't go. I am on the Bachelor Auction Committee for APO and it will finally be over with this week. (Thank you Jesus!) I love being involved though, it was something I wanted to change while I was in college and so far it has been great (although not completely without stress!)Initiation is coming up in a few weeks and I still have to complete a few hours of service as well as some pledge events. I will be very glad when I am finally made an "active member". Yay!
This past weekend was the most sober I have had yet. I spent both Friday and Saturday night without alcohol, and had a wonderful time. I went to see Saw 2 last night with Brenden and Kevin- what a fucked up movie...although I must admit that someone was incredibly creative to come up with that stuff. (Deranged, sick and twisted...but creative nonetheless!) It made me realize that I do need to ease up on the partying...
Anyways, there goes another totally pointless and boring entry. I hope all is well with everyone!

Well, my dream of working at Disneyland has half way come true. I am now an official employee of "Party Animals", a children's party entertainment company. Yes, ladies and gentledudes I will perform as various characters on the weekends...this weekend, I'm Elmo.
I realized that I have almost completely stopped caring what other people think about me...and I am slightly frightened with myself, not gunna lie.
Any pointers?
Peace out peeps

Now that I finally feel [somewhat] settled into my new nest, I guess I should provide y'all with a real update...
It looks like I am up for yet another hellishly busy semester, just like most of you. Between 16 class credits, 15 hours of work a week, one (and possibly two) clubs, etc. etc. I cannot help but feel slightly overwhelmed. Nevertheless, the fact that I live in a kickass apartment complex with three amazing roommates is helping quite a bit. Here's some info on my classes:
Spanish 202- The teacher has already embarrassed me in front of the entire class...it's going to be a lot harder than I expected, considering the last few teachers I had never gave homework. Awesomeness.
French (Trad) 101 "Portrayals of Love and Lust in Francophonie Literature"- It was purely by chance, but somehow I managed to get into this class. The teacher is nuts, which will hopefully be to my advantage (at least I will stay awake).
ASTR 203 “Stars”- That's right folks, for some reason I put myself back into another astronomy course. I was desperate...what was I thinking? Saving grace: the teacher reminds me of Gio's dad- and it gives me a good chuckle each class period.
POL 210 "US and AZ Constitution"- It has already made it to the bottom of my favorites list, major ARGH on that one.
HWR 203 "Arizona/Southwest Water Issues"- Good God almighty...a class all about hydrology...okay typing about it is just too painful.
There you have it, my semester in a nutshell. Until next time! -Steph

And another year of college begins...I have a feeling that this one holds much in store for me. It's bound to be quite an adventure- and to be totally honest, I am very excited that I have no idea what is going to happen. For the first time in a long while, I am going to roll with the punches and go in with no expectations.
I hope that everyone's sophomore year proves to be a good expereience. See you on our breaks! Have a good one.
Peace out. ~*Steph*~

Part I
It was a normal night, just like any other. Little did I know about the trials I was about to face. As I walked through the guestroom heading into the bathroom to get ready for bed, I was greeted by the most unworthy of creatures: a cockAroach. Not just a cockroach, mind you- a DIRTY, FILTHY cockAroach. I squealed, but silenced myself remembering that my family was already asleep. Damnitall. Now normally in a case like this, I would run to my dad and have him take care of the problem. Unfortunately I had no choice but to battle with him uno y uno. Thinking fast I ran to the kitchen and grabbed a can of Raid. It was on baby, OH IT WAS ON.
Part II
Making sure that I was a safe distance away from my most horrific of intruders, I jumped up onto the guestroom bed, aimed, and sprayed. Yikes. I missed him and he quickly scurried away from my poison. At this point my cat came to my aid and began to chase him around the room. It was quite a sight. Luckily, this made him easier for me to track down. For awhile I thought I had lost him, but then I looked up. Apparently, roaches can do Spiderman crawls along the ceiling. GROSS!
Part Tres
He scratched his nasty legs across the entire ceiling and headed into the bathroom. This was my chance for glory. I slowly stalked my prey as he traipsed back into his point of origin (the shower drain). Finally, I was able to corner him in the shower. I sprayed what seemed to be about half the can. I had to be sure that it was over. He wiggled and squirmed. Within about 20 seconds, Mr. CockAroach was dead. Rest in peace, brother. Oh wait- nevermind. FUCK YOU! Muahahahaha.

Well, it looks like my summer is going to be pretty crazy.
I start my job at Brophy Sports Campus next week, it should be interesting/hoprefully fun. I'm a little nervous....eh
I'm working a second job with Anozira Staffing. The greatest thing about this job is that not only does it pay well, but I can work whenever I want to. I sign up for the jobs that I want to work online- it's amazing. (If anyone needs a job like this let me know, you will be hired on the spot.)
As of now I am attempting to get into a summer math class to get caught up. We'll see how that goes...
I hope that we get some sort of reunion together soon, I would love to see you all.
